Physics

Physics of the very small.

[01]Education

Where I study.

Five years by the Aegean, then north to Paris.

Sorbonne Université

M.Sc. Physics — Paris Physics Master

Condensed matter, quantum physics, nanoscience and materials physics, with a focus on low-dimensional and quantum materials.

2026 — 2028

Currently enrolled

İzmir Institute of Technology

B.Sc. Physics

Coursework alongside hands-on research in experimental and computational materials physics.

2021 — 2026

Graduated

[02]Experience

From thin films to nuclear physics.

Seven positions in Türkiye, France and Russia. I started by growing thin films, learned to compute materials with DFT, and most recently studied them under irradiation and in the electron microscope.

  1. Mar — May 2026İzmir

    IZTECH Integrated Research Centers

    Research intern

Structural analysis with transmission electron microscopy (TEM).

  2. Jan — Mar 2026Paris

Paris Institute of Nanosciences (INSP), Sorbonne

    Research intern

Surface and optical properties of low-dimensional oxides, studied with FTIR, photoluminescence and TEM.

  3. Aug — Oct 2025Moscow

    Joint Institute for Nuclear Research

    Research intern

Radiation effects and defect formation in solids under gamma, neutron, electron and ion irradiation. I set up a JINR–IZTECH collaboration and continued with high-pressure DFT studies.

  4. 2023 — 2025İzmir

    CENT Research Group

    Research intern

DFT calculations on semiconductors, leading to my PbSnS₂ manuscript. I also built the lab’s task-management app.

  5. 2021 — 2023İzmir

    AVCI Rocket Team

    Co-founder, team member

Designed the production and recovery systems. Teknofest 2023 finalists: ~8,000 ft apogee at Mach 0.7.

  6. Apr — Sep 2022İzmir

    Teknoma Technological Materials

    R&D intern

Magnetron sputtering for defense-industry production — thin films outside the lab.

  7. 2021 — 2022İzmir

    OZYUZER Research Group

    Research intern

First steps in experimental physics: sputtering, UV-VIS-NIR spectroscopy, thickness profiling.

[03]Toolkit

A periodic table of my tools.

Grouped like the elements. Hover or tap one to read what I use it for.
